ESDCTA HP at NJHP 10/5-6 is still taking entries

“Can't get into Morven?  Don't feel like driving all the way south to the ARII Team Challenge?  But still want to compete on Oct. 5th or 6th?

Well, you are in LUCK!!  The ESDCTA NJ Horse Trials at the Horse Park of NJ is still taking entries through this Friday, September 27th!  AND they are running an Adult Team Competition!  So get your entries in and find a team!  If you don't have a team they will help place you with other adults who need a team.  The teams just need to be those competing on Sat. (T, P) separate from those competing on Sun. (N, BN, Starter).

Come join the fun at a venue that is CERTAIN to have excellent footing!

See the omnibus page at: http://useventing.com/competitions/omnibus-list?event=15436

Hope to see you there!

TD Reports and Your Feedback

I am also following up on some TD reports. Already I have noted that a number of TD’s have noted some issues with footing, organization, but the major weakness seems to be XC control. That is something most of you don’t see but it is critical to safety and the success of a HT.

I am going to be following up with those events where a concern has been raised. Furthermore I encourage you to mention to the TD what you like and don’t like about a HT since those comments get reflected in their reports.

Also, USEF also has a footing evaluation report http://usef.org/documents/competitions/CompFootEval.pdf and a regular evaluation http://usef.org/documents/competitions/CompEvalForm.pdf.

If you are a USEF member, I encourage you to fill out these evaluations too.

Lastly let me remind you of yet another evaluation that was raised at the annual meetings. You can evaluate officials http://usef.org/documents/competitions/LicOffEvaluationF.pdf.

The officials have indicated that they can learn from evaluations and they strongly urged competitors and HT management to fill out these forms. These are confidential and the results that get back to officials and the oversight committee are summarized.

DRPC Team Challenge a big hit

GRC PhotographySteve Symansky, as the long time secretary of the Difficult Run Pony Club Horse Trial supported the Area II Adult Riders by offering Teams at the Spring Horse Trial. Adding more work to his task as secretary, he created the teams and sent each Area II Adult Riders the people's names and e-mail addresses to contact each other. There were ribbons for the teams too.

Janet Gunn, Brittany Hardy, Jaye Younkers and I were one of the Adult Rider Teams at the Difficult Run Horse Trial. To support CDCTA, our team name was CDCTA Plus.

Janet was a founder of CDCTA and has been on the board of directors every year. Brittany has been a member for several years and I have been the secretary of the CDCTA Fall Horse Trials and a board member for several years. Jaye was the Plus, since she was the only non-member. We hope this will change.
