We have a number of great educational activities planned for early April and May.  I look forward to seeing you out and about.  Look for the YRAP tent near the secretaries tent or vendor area where you will find refreshments, details about up coming activities, and your friends can join

FREE - We will be providing an opportunity to walk the Prel and Above courses with upper level riders where you can learn their strategies for jumping their horse XC or Show Jumping.  Use the Educational Activity Form

April 8-9 The Fork with Sally Ike and Bonnie Mosser

Use the Educational Activity Form to register for wither or both sessions of this clinic.

On Friday late afternoon within 60 minutes of the last Dressage horse completes, Sally will meet with the YRAP members at Show Jumping
Arena.  We will be setting the Show Jumping Course for the Preliminary horses.  Learn from Sally directly what tests she has built out on
Show Jumping.  Learn why she chooses certain fences for the combinations,  the distances between the related lines, and where she expects the rails to fall.  This is a fantastic opportunity to learn. For more about who Sally is consider reading this article:

On Saturday at 9:00 we will meet at the YRAP tent to spend the day with Bonnie Mosser.  See http://www.bonniemosser.com/index2.htm to
learn more about who she is. From 9-4 follow Bonnie Mosser around the grounds, courses, and into the stables.
*     Introductions to each other and a brief introduction to JR/YRAP
*     Spend time in the warm up analyzing methods
*     Walk the courses with Bonnie and watch and critic I/A/CIC riders on course
*     Spend time understanding cool down technics from XC
*     Meet other riders who have come through the program or are trying to qualify for NAYRC
*     Analysis stable management techniques being used
*     Walk the Show Jumping for Sunday and develop an understanding of the different options. How is it different than the Preliminary course?

May 7-8 with David & Lauren O’Brien in Vass NC

This is the first mounted clinic for the season. The clinic is geared for preparing for the NAJYRC, but is open to all members in the YR/
YRAP program. It is going to be held at David & Lauren O' Brien's farm near Southern Pines.   See NAJYRC Clinic Application and Clinic 1...Accommodations for more details.

May 19-22 VA Horse Trials YR Team Challenge

Join your fellow YRAP members at VA Horse Trails in May.

We encourage you to form teams  (mixing levels is totally okay - just no ADULTS)  Pony Clubs, Affiliates, Barns, and USEA YR all encouraged to organize teams.  You can even mark you want to be "scrambled with other YRs" on your entry and meet your team mates when you arrive at the horse center.   It's still early, but expect some other unmounted educational and social activities just for YRs to be happening at VA HT this spring!!  List your team preference right on your USEA entry form!

July 25-30 YRAP Camp at Sandy River Equestrian Center in SW VA

No were else do you get a 6 day camping experience, with food, lodging, education for only $800/camper.
