As we all know, the journey to the NAJYRC is long, expensive, but so very rewarding and unforgettable. Each Young Rider set on the path for qualification should be aware that fundraising is a huge part of the Young Rider program. The more money our program raises throughout the year, the less financial burden each individual has on themselves. Each day we work towards this goal by setting up various fundraisers at events, and reaching out to find sponsorships and support. Our goal is to lift the financial burden off of every Young Rider, but we cannot do this alone. We want Young Riders to be responsible for their program by volunteering and fundraising to make their program better.
This year, riders with INTENT TO COMPETE or GROOM at the championships will be required to raise $500 individually by June 1st. This is a realistic goal and we are willing and able to provide guidance, assistance, and ideas to help each young rider achieve this goal. This will be in addition to what fundraisers we already have in place, and will help our program achieve our 2013 fundraising goal of $40,000.
Not everyone that fundraises is going to make the team this year, but everyone should work together as an area to send the best possible representation of our Area’s talent. That is what a team is about. We also encourage Young Riders to seek out other Young Riders to combine fundraising efforts.
Please let us know if there are any questions on how you can raise your $500. Our parent coordinator Rich Frankel is working closely with us to help develop successful fundraising efforts. The list of possibilities really is endless – from trailer washes, to stall stripping, to tack cleaning and braiding, bake sales, getting pledged donations, or even reaching out to local businesses and asking for support. A lot of restaurants will do fundraisers during the week where they donate a percentage of proceeds towards the cause. These are all easy, fun ideas that can help reach a goal of $500 as well as spreading the word about an amazing program. Any other ideas you may have are encouraged to be shared. Please contact us as soon as possible so we may help coordinate your personal fundraisers.
We look forward to a successful and prosperous year in Area II!
