Area II is pleased to announce that the CCI * and CCI** young riders for this year's NAJYRC have been selected. There will be a team of 3 for the ** made up of Arden Wildasin, Benita Strini and Caroline Martin.
Two riders tried to qualify at Bromont but unfortunately they didn't make it. But we are very excited to have at least 3!! We are welcoming Arden this year as a transplant from Area I (she moved to VA last year). All 3 of these girls have strong records and we are excited about their potential!
We had 7 qualify for the * and have selected the following young riders tobe the 6 that will go to NAJYRC.
Connor Husain, Clare Green, Jordan Litter, Savannah Fulton, Jenna Begbie, and Chase Beach. Jackie McGuiness is the alternate and she has agreed to be on call should we need her. We won't do team/individual selection until after the jogs at KY and will base that decision on performance at camp and final vet evaluations. We will be taking 3 grooms, Tiffany Foster is the head groom and Laura Roberts and Erin Murphy will also be coming along to help. This year we have two mentors from the YRAP program also - Makela Kantoroski and Cara Goode. They will be shadowing David O'Connor and the TD of the eventing championships - they will have excellent experiences I'm sure!! We are asking Makela, Cara, Erin and
Laura to write a recap of their experiences so that we can post them on thewebsite for other kids to see. This will give both programs something to share with new and upcoming members!! Camp will start July 18th at the O'Brien's farm and we will ship to KY on the 25th.
The kids are camping out at the campground this year in nice RV's which will be great - especially if it is as hot as last year!! They have somewhere to go cool off and rest without leaving the park. We have secured another sponsor - Smart Pak will be donating embroidered soft shell jackets to all the kids and grooms. Somerset Saddlery is sponsoring us with the saddle pads and helmet covers. And Sophie duPont is once again sponsoring the hunt coats!
Thanks to our coordinators for doing a great job!
