How about recognizing all your friends without helmets, and having a whole day to chat and listen to great speakers, without having to run and walk a course, make a dressage time, or coach a student? We’ve got the answer: Area II’s Annual Meeting, to be held this year Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at the Holiday Inn at Carradoc Hall, centrally located at Leesburg, VA.
Join us for a delicious awards luncheon, where our year-end award winners will be honored, as well as listen to acclaimed speakers on the latest topics. We’ll also have meetings of the Adult Riders, Young Riders, and area organizers, among other business.

Plan to spend some time with a Friend of Area II, sponsor Ecogold, (the great saddle pads and other equine textiles) and Cavalor, the horse feed and supplement company from Europe now available in the U.S.
You’ll get the chance to listen to renowned equine educator from Virginia Tech, Dr. Rebecca Splan, who was honored as 2009 Educator of the Year from the state of Virginia’s agricultural extension service. Her efforts in creating a sport horse curriculum at VT are legendary. She’s an incredible speaker you will not want to miss!
Also presenting will be Jennie Stone, human physical therapist and event rider who will discuss the non-equine half of your partnership and what you can do both strength and fitness wise to be a better partner for your equine friend!
Dr. John DeSilva of Ecogold will be speaking about the advances in equine textiles, and Raleigh Shook of Cavalor will talk on equine nutrition.
We’ll have door prizes and a variety of interesting choices for your meeting day. The Holiday Inn is also slashing their guest room price just for us, so book your room early – just $75.00 (plus tax) if you mention Area II Annual Meeting when you sign up.
Registration forms will be available shortly; watch this space for more information, and please if you get an email from Area II, open it and save it. Just a note about deadline for registration – as soon as possible! Holidays make us all crazy so just get your registration filled out and sent in via snail mail ASAP. Visit our Facebook page and also put in your RSVP, but only mailed in registrations with payment will really count, so don’t delay! (Registration deadline will be Jan. 4th – no luncheon tickets will be sold at the door, sorry!)
