February, 2022 - From AR2 YR Coordinator Chris Donovan:
Please note the 2022 schedule (posted in YR Forms, 2022 folder). It will be a busy year assuming we keep Covid at bay. Some reminders for February:
The Young Rider Program now goes to the age of 25. However the YR division is still through the year you turn 21. This will cause some confusion for our Preliminary and above riders.
FEI level Young Riders May 1 deadline: https://www.usef. org/media/press-releases/ dates-location-announced-for- 2022-usef-young
You will need to go to your USEF Dashboard before May 1 to declare the area you wish to represent. Only the riders who declare will be considered for the November Championship.
E18 Program - Training sessions for those competing at Training level and above will require an application. Details will be out soon so start getting your videos ready! When the applications are available they will be found on your USEF Dashboard.
Its not there yet - but come early March the 2022 registration form will be posted. The Area II Year End Awards are SEPARATE and require registration on the Area II website for each horse/rider combination! It is not automatically a part of any other registration you might be making for the year! The rules and signup button are on the Year End Awards section on this website, and the button will be active in March.
IEL Affiliate Registration: I strongly encourage you to create affiliates with your friends, barn mates, pony club, or trainer. The forms are attached, please get them to Jennifer as soon as possible. For those who are of high school age, you will be included on an A2 YR Team as a default.
NOTE: I have not scheduled monthly conference calls for 2022 as they were attended by a small few. So please check your email regularly, and call me if you have questions. (Holly has added a new 2022 folder that will contain our 2022 documents - please BOOKMARK this link and check for updated documents frequently. Questions about many Young Rider subjects will be answered by the documents posted in this folder!)
