Lynn Symansky and Cathy Fredrickson have been working on the lesson plans for our camp between traveling to the CCIs and CICs. Everyone will get at least two lessons a day include private dressage sessions and jumping in small groups. We also have many lectures and hands on horsemanship activities planned. Two of the instructors (Sinead Haplin and Doug Payne) are currently on the list for the Games, if they go to London, we will have Jennie Brannigan and Hannah Burnett fill in. Others are in the wings, should the camp size grow significantly.
I placed the order for the ribbons this week for the Derby. The Derby will use a "fix a test" format for dressage, so you get to ride the test twice with feedback, schooling through the first round and scoring on the second. We are arranging for a great dressage judge, who is also the coach of some of the New England upper level riders. The jumping phase will
include the NJHP water jump and other XC fences mixed with some show jumping. If we can get an equitation judge, we might add that to the show jumping score like the old days.
Any questions please contact me or Cathy B. on the entry form found in the YRAP Forms page.
