Area 2 is pleased to announce that this year’s Area 2 Championships for all levels will be held at Morven Park on Oct 6-7, 2012. Morven is under new management and they are extremely excited to be hosting the Championships this year and want to make it something special for all levels. We encourage all that qualify to attend. All Championship levels will be run over 2 days, with special SJ courses and the cross country courses that will have some differences from the regular levels. All Championship divisions will run SJ last in Reverse Order and there will be an Awards Ceremony after each division.
The qualification periods, in keeping with the new procedures we put in place 2 years ago are:
- BN-P 10/12/11 – 9/18/12
- I and A 8/31/11 – 9/18/12
As a reminder the qualifying periods ensure that every ride at a HT would count toward qualifications in at least one year. Thus the policy is “from the closing date of the previously run Championship of a given level to the closing date of the current year's Championship at the same level."
Regarding qualifications, you may qualify for horse and rider divisions either under the old definition of horse and rider or the new definitions that went into effect his year. The full criteria will be posted on the Web. There are some changes from previous years. First we will be using the USEA placings which means that placings are adjusted for the level of the rider/horse (i.e.. amateur, junior, etc. when in Open divisions are placed separately). Second, we will also allow horse and riders to qualify separately (consistent with the AEC's).
