We have two areas available for cross country schooling, the XC hill and the XC infield (located inside the training track). Eric Bull, of ETB Equine Construction, has built a number of our portables and the water complex, ditches, and banks. We have also acquired cross country fences from Surefire Farm and Richter X-Country Designs. The XC hill and the XC infield have portables ranging from Intro-Training level. The water complex, located on the hill, offers endless training opportunities through the preliminary level. Cross country schooling is available by appointment any day of the week.
A graduate ‘A’ Pony Clubber and Advanced-level eventer, Katie has trained and competed horses from the lower to upper levels in eventing, jumpers, hunters and dressage. Katie’s patient personality, combined with her years of experience, make her an excellent choice for green or difficult horses. She makes the owner’s goal her own goal, and works to create successful partnerships between horse and rider. Katie provides rider instruction in the following disciplines: eventing, jumpers, hunters and dressage. From beginners new to the sport, or seasoned competitors looking for a new outlook, Katie is ready to help! Come to her lovely Middletown, Maryland facility, or she will travel to you.
Home to USDF Silver Medalist Meghan Truppner, Karmic Run Stables is located in the heart of Maryland horse country. Founded in 2013, the farm caters to everyone from FEI dressage riders to people just wanting a fun, safe environment to enjoy time with their horse.  Meghan prides herself in the ability to teach dressage to riders in a way that not only makes sense to them, but also makes sense to their horses. She has an incredible eye—developed in part to attending judges training in 2011—which allows her to quickly assess any training issues. While Meghan is a stickler for the basics, she will often think outside the box to help horse and rider combinations work through any roadblocks they may be up against. Meghan loves teaching anyone that loves to learn!
While Valerie loves the thrill of competing, she finds great pleasure in working with students and horses on a daily, routine basis. Rest assured that anything and everything she does is accomplished with an abundance of enthusiasm, and obsessive attention to detail!  As a potential client, you have the right to be selective. Valerie can assure you that she sets a high standard, and accepts nothing less. The horses deserve it!  The combination of her training, the facility, and the surrounding atmosphere really brings out the best in the horses and riders that spend time here. She encourages you to find this out for yourself!
Located in the heart of Area II eventing, A Bit Better Farm is a full-service equestrian training facility owned and managed by Kelley Williams and Pat Mansfield. A Bit Better Farm moved to its current Brookeville, Maryland location in late 2005. The farm has provided not only a place to develop a top-notch equestrian program but also has given so much of the extended family place to grow and be together.  As head trainer, Kelley concentrates on the training, competing and sales of event horses, in addition to teaching students how to get the most out of their relationship with their equine partners. While the farm focuses on eventing, Kelley welcomes horses and students of all disciplines and experience levels.
