Area 2 Spring 2016 News from our Chairman

Hi all!!

Welcome to spring in Area 2!  We’ve had a bit of a hiatus in Area-wide emails while we replaced the server that manages them.  Hopefully now we’re up and running.  I wanted to make you aware of two great things going on in the Area this spring.

First, we just launched the Area 2 VIP Pilot Program, which recognizes volunteer contributions and provides easier ways for volunteers and organizers to coordinate.   We’re rolling out the Pilot at Waredaca, Seneca Valley Pony Club, and Maryland Horse Trials in June and July, and hope to expand the program throughout the area and nationally in the future.  Check out www.eventingvolunteers.com for more information! Second, with huge thanks to John Nunn and Bit of Britain, we’ll be hosting a Schooling Derbycross fundraiser at Fair Hill on June 25 to benefit our Young Riders’ Team. The course will combine show jumps and cross country, including a water jump and ditches.  Please sign up online and come out for a great time!  Information is at

Schooling Derby Cross Presented by Bit of Britain

All proceeds benefit Area II Young Riders in their travels to the 2016 NAJYRC in Parker Colorado.

JUNE 25TH at Fair Hill's Sawmill Field water complex
BEGINNER NOVICE, NOVICE, TRAINING

The course will combine both show jumps and cross country jumps including a water jump and ditches. The course will begin with show jumps and run straight out to a shortened cross country course.The course will not be time or judged it is a schooling show.

• $35 entry fee with entry completed online + $25 per additional rounds entered- Beginner Novice, Novice & Training
• Entries must be received before the closing date June 18th
• Ride times will be posted Wednesday June 22
• All Riders must wear ASTM/SEI approved helmet, medical armband and protective vest.
• Riders may sign up the day of the show, if space is  available ($45 registration fee+ $25 additional rounds entered) Please note: space is limited a spot the day of is not guaranteed.
• Current coggins is required with entry
• Payment will be completed the day off. Cash Checks and Credit cards will all be accepted at the schooling.
