We had a very fruitful meeting of a small group of Area 2 Adult Riders at the annual Area 2 meeting yesterday with lots of ideas generated. It was energetic and positive and really makes me look forward to the coming year!
One of the concerns I had for communication among our 400+ members was lack of actvity on our Facebook page. Facebook has it's pros and cons and is a useful tool, but I would love to see more members using it and responding to posts. It was suggested we try also using the long-established, but under used AR2 Yahoo Group and Susan McRae volunteered to stoke the fire and see if it could be ressureccted; which I believe is successful. Use of the Yahoo group requires that we have your correct email address and that you accept the invitaion to join if you're not already joined. You can choose the daily digest, each post emailed to you or none and you can log on and check and respond to posts as you please. While our Facebook page and email will remain our primary means of "spreading the word" I'd like to make announcements on the Yahoo Group as well.
Coming up! Daniel Stewart Eventing Sports Psychology Clinic and Rider Fitness Symposium at Southern 8th's Farm, just across the NC border, Feb 4th and 5th. Space is limited, don't be left out, escape the cold!
We have some great ideas brewing about how to spread one-day clinics acoss the area, so please stay tuned for more updates. We also have someadditional help for co-coordinators around the area. Carey Williams in NJ, J.C. Elkins in DC/NoVA, Cindy DePorter in NC and Wendy Owens and Carly Eddahri in central Virginia. Stay warm!
